Your child may develop a high fever in the middle of the night, leaving you unsure of how to manage the situation. Sasolmed provides you with access to a suite of virtual consultations that do not impact your physical consultation limit.

  • Quickly connect to an emergency GP for emergencies
  • Find a healthcare provider
  • Nominate or change a Preferred General Practitioner (PGP)
  • Get an electronic prescription for your medicine
  • Get an electronic sick note if needed

Online consultations provide access to a virtual GP consultation with your PGP or any other available GP.

Some examples include diarrhea, vomiting, dehydration, fever, flu, accidents, upper respiratory infections, mild or moderate asthma and bronchitis.

  • Emergency and urgent care consultations are paid directly by Sasolmed

Follow these steps to access the options:

  • Log into the Sasolmed app
  • Click on the Get Care button on the home screen of the app
  • Select Speak to a healthcare provider now under Services
  • Complete a short symptom checker which will determine whether you need emergency or urgent care
  • For Online Urgent Care, you will be asked to give the app permission to use your camera and microphone, and for your health records to be shared with the doctor
  • You will then be connected with a highly skilled GP for a virtual consultation and diagnosis
  • If necessary, the GP can recommend a face-to-face consultation or dispatch an ambulance to your location
  • After the consultation, you will be able to view the healthcare provider's consultation notes, referrals (if there were any) and use the app to order medicine prescribed by the healthcare provider

Alternatively, you can find a healthcare provider - GP, dentist, pharmacy or hospital close to you, by allowing the app to use your location through the Find a healthcare provider feature.
